How to Check UPSC CDS Result 2021?
Candidates who appeared in the CDS I examination can check their UPSC CDS 2 Results using the step-by-step procedure given below:
- At first, you have to log on to the official website, i.e., upsc.gov.in.
- Then, you need to click on the ‘Examination’ tab.
- Now, click on the ‘UPSC CDS Result’ link that is shown there.

What after CDS Result 2021?
Candidates who are shortlisted in the CDS-2 exam result are eligible to be interviewed by the Service Selection Board. Qualifiers of the SSB interview are recommended for admission into various courses, to be commenced very soon.
Selected candidates must submit a specified document list within two weeks of completion of the SSB interview. Check out the list of documents to be submitted after the SSB interview below.

UPSC CDS Cut-off
The candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks in both CDS 1 and CDS 2 to be eligible for the SSB interview. The minimum qualifying score is 20 marks, and this is for each subject. The UPSC CDS cutoff and final cutoff are announced separately on the official web portal. While UPSC prepares the final cutoff of this year, candidates can check out the cutoff of the previous year to have an idea about what the final cutoff of this year going to be.

UPSC CDS 2021 Selection Process
The selection procedure of recruitment through CDS is divided into 2 parts, viz., written exam and personal interview. The candidates who score minimum passing marks in the written exam are called for an SSB interview. The SSB interview is conducted by the SSB and candidates must score the. The marks allotted for the interview are 300 for IMA, Air Force, and Naval posts; however, for OTA, the interview marks are 200.
UPSC hires shortlisted candidates based on their performance in the following selection rounds:
- Written Exam: Firstly, the candidates have to appear in the written exam for 3 subjects which are English, GK and Elementary Maths. The duration for each section will be of 2 hours. The candidates who pass this exam are called for a personal interview. The candidates must clear the minimum marks criteria to pass the written test.
- Document Verification: The candidates who appear for the personal interview can only proceed further if they have all the documents required for verification. The candidates who do not produce all the documents shall not be allowed for the personal interview.
- Personal Interview: The candidates who score minimum passing marks in the written test shall be eligible to take the personal interview. The interview is further divided into ‘Personality Test’ and ‘Intelligence Test’.
- Medical Test: This test is conducted to ensure the health of the candidates, i.e., whether or not they are physically and medically fit. Many things go into the medical test, including hearing ability, vision, physical fitness, etc. The presence of any ailment is also made sure in this test.
Personal Interview by SSB
It must be obvious by now that only those who pass the written test with minimum qualifying marks are eligible for the SSB interview. Now, candidates should understand that it is going to be a 5-day process as far as the interview is concerned.
Day 1:
On day 1, candidates will have to appear for the ‘Picture Perception’ and ‘Description Test’ that will take place along with the group discussion. On the same day, the names of shortlisted candidates will be decided.
Day 2:
On day 2, the candidates shall be asked to divide themselves into a group of 8-10 and will be assigned different numbers. This practice shall be followed by Psychological tests.
Day 3:
On this day, the candidates will have to appear for the face-to-face interview. There will be an interviewing officer who shall be giving interviews and gauging the candidates’ knowledge and skills. The candidates shall also be informed about the outdoor tests in advance.
Day 4:
The day starts with an individual obstacle race. It is mandatory for each candidate to clear a set of 10 obstacles and they will only be given three minutes to complete this.
Day 5:
On this page, the candidates shall be asked to take part in a conference organised by the SSB board. The deputy president shall also give a closing address to the candidates on this page. On this day, candidates can also have the resolution of their questions.

Medical Test
The medical test will be taken by the Board of Medical Officers who have completed the basic military training. The tests will be held in the basic military hospital assigned by the Service Selection Board. The tests that will be conducted are:
- Complete Haemogram
- Urine RE/ME
- X-Ray chest PA view
- USG abdomen & pelvis
Training Instructions
Any candidates who appeared in this exam earlier but were removed on any disciplinary grounds will not be permitted admission to the training process again.
Marriage during Training: A candidate who has appeared in the CDS exam and his training is still going on cannot marry until his training is completed. Any candidate who marries before the completion of training in a medical test or in a personality test will be disqualified from the process of selection.
Restriction of Working: The candidates who passed the exam and has started their training cannot work for someone else or some other organisation.

The merit list for all the qualified candidates is prepared based on the cut-off minimum marks decided by the UPSC. The candidate must score marks equal to or more than the marks specified in the cut-off list. The cut-off list is prepared separately for every course.
