UPSC CDS Cut off 2020 released @ upsc.gov.in for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam 2020. The CDS Cut off contains the marks for IMA, INA, AFA and OTA courses. As per the official CDS Cut off 2020, applicants were required to obtain minimum 20% marks in CDS Paper 1, 10% marks in CDS Paper-II and 20% marks in CDS Paper III. UPSC conducted the CDS 2020 Exam on 2nd February 2020. CDS Cut off 2020 is released on the basis of the difficulty level of exam and the total number of vacancies. Candidates who are able to fetch the cut off get into the merit list for their selection in courses carried out by Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers Training Academy and Air Force Academy. UPSC releases the cut off marks along with the CDS Exam Result. The Cut off marks are decided on the basis of various parameters such as total number of CDS vacancies, number of candidates appearing for the exam, and difficulty level of the question paper.
UPSC CDS Cutoff 2020 – Expected UPSC CDS CutOff
A candidate needs to secure the minimum cutoff in order to pass the exam. However, clearing the cutoff doesn’t mean that you have overcome all the hurdles. Aspirants must also perform well in the SSB interview and then they should also pass the medical examination.

UPSC CDS exam is conducted twice a year. It is very important that the candidate has an idea about the CDS Cutoff 2020. You can go through the previous year’s CDS Cut off also to get an idea of this year’s cutoff. However, we recommend that you do not limit clearing the cutoff. Because the final merit list is made by considering marks secured in the CDS exam, SSB Interview, and Medical examination.
CDS Cut off 2020 for Written Exam
The cut off for the written exam is the minimum aggregate marks of last qualified candidates. The written exam for IMA, INA and AFA comprises English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics sections. The test paper for admission to OTA comprises two sections, English and General Knowledge. Total marks of the test for IMA, INA and AFA are 300 while it is 200 for OTA. Candidates are also required to secure the minimum qualifying marks in each subject, which is 20%. UPSC prepares a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Candidates who are declared successful in the written exam are called for intelligence and personality test.
CDS Cut off for SSB Interview
SSB Interview is conducted for the qualified candidates of the written exam. The SSB Interview follows the two-stage selection process. Stage 1 comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT). Stage 2 comprises Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. To qualify SSB Interview, candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks. CDS cut off for SSB Interview is decided out of 300 marks for IMA, INA and AFA and 200 marks for OTA.
CDS Cut off 2020 for Final Selection
The cut off for final selection is decided based on written exam and SSB Interview. CDS final cut off is the marks secured by the last recommended candidates. Based on the final cutoff, candidates are selected for admission to the different courses.
CDS Cutoff 2020 Depends On
CDS Cutoff depends upon a lot of factors which are as under:
- Total number of vacancies in the various courses,
- Total number of candidates appearing for the exam,
- The difficulty level of the exam,
- Previous year Cutoff trends, etc.
Depending upon all these factors, UPSC will decide the CDS 2 Cutoff after the exam is conducted.
