Leadership & General Management

According to IIM Calcutta, 2016 year saw a marked rise in the number of Leadership & General Management roles, with firms like Tata Administrative Services (TAS), Aditya Birla Group (ABG), CK Birla Group, Samsung India, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Wipro (Global 100 Program) etc. hiring in large numbers. General Management

The profiles offered included strategic consulting, operations consulting, financial advisory and IT consulting.

Finance

Top league financial players such as Axis Bank, Avista Advisory, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Bank, Citibank, JM Financials, Yes Bank recruited 11% students from the batch. The profiles in which the students have been offered placement include Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, International Banking, Capital Markets etc. Amazon, Dell, Flipkart, GE, Vodafone offered Corporate Finance/Strategy roles.

IT/ITES

IT/ITES sector offered jobs to 12% of the batch. Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Hexaware Technologies and HCL Technologies offered sales and consulting roles. General Electric, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and Marico offered Corporate IT roles.

Marketing & Operations

According to SPJIMR Mumbai, the B-School maintained its niche in FMCG hiring. 14% of the students were offered Marketing & Operations jobs. A total of 421 companies ( the have increase of 21% over last year contributed around 798 offers (increase of 27% over last year) as on date. “With the rolling placements underway, and around 5 % of the Class participating in various stages of the placements process, these numbers will only increase further, till the process concludes in May,” the institute said in a press release.

Sector-wise distribution:

Leadership Programmes:  Companies across sectors and geographies recruited for their Leadership Programmes in significant numbers. These roles constituted around 10% of the total number of offers made this year and came from companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, IBM India, Ranbaxy Ltd, General Electric, HCL Technologies, among others.

Technology and Consulting:  Companies from Technology sector made the largest number of offers on the campus. As many as 300 offers were made by 53 companies such as Apple, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Facebook, Google, HCL, Hewlett Packard, IBM, ITC Infotech, Microsoft, Wipro Ltd, among others. Consulting sector was the second largest recruiter, contributing 163 offers from around 30 companies including A T Kearney, Accenture, Booz & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Global eProcure, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Oliver Wyman,  Parthenon, and PwC.

BFSI sector: Several leading banks and other financial institutions made a total of 75 offers on campus.  Companies included Citibank NA, Delta Partners FZ LLC, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UBS AG, Yes Bank, among others.

Pharma, Healthcare, and Biotech: As many as 58 jobs were offered by leading players including Biocon, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Max Healthcare Ltd, Novartis Pharma AG and Ranbaxy Laboratories among others.

It is the 18th batch of the Post Graduate Programme of IIM Kozhikode (Top Business Schools) that has concluded its final placements in a record seven days. The season witnessed an increase in the number of recruiters visiting campus for the first time and students being offered niche roles. With over 119 recruiters and 370 offers, this year’s placements continued the trend of increasing average salary being offered to the students at INR 17.1 lakhs per annum, a growth of 12% from previous year. The highest domestic package was INR 37 lakhs per annum.

Top Recruiters of Top Business Schools  Placement 2016 witnessed the participation of 77 recruiters. A number of recruiters who participated in placement last year were 75 in Top Business Schools.
