Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Stenographers (Grade C& D) is one of the most prestigious Exam conducted by SSC. The SSC Stenographer Exam comprises of Written Exam and Skill Test in Stenography. In this article, we will discuss SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure which will cover SSC Stenographer Exam pattern and other important Details regarding the SSC Stenographrer Exam.

SSC Stenographer Written Exam Pattern:

  • The Written Exam will comprise of Objective Type Questions.
  • All the Questions, except English language will be set in both the languages English and Hindi.
  • Time duration will be 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • For every correct answer, you will get 1 marks and for every wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
  • You have to obtain qualifying marks in this Written Exam in order to be called for the Skill Test. The qualifying marks will be set by the Commission.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test:

  • You  will be shortlisted for skill test on the basis of your score in the Written Exam.
  • The Skill Test will be only be of qualifying nature and it’s marks will not have any effect on the final merit.
  • The qualifying parameters for the Stenography Skill Test will be set by the Commission .
  • All candidates have to appear for the Skill Test regardless of their categories.

Resolution of Tie Cases in SSC Stenographer Exam:

We have seen the case, when more than one candidate gets the same marks. In such a scenario, tie will be resolved as per the following criteria

  • Marks in the First Section

Candidate scoring more marks in the first section of the written exam will be ranked higher.

  • Date of Birth

Older Candidate will be Ranked Higher.

  • Alphabetical order

Ranking will be done on the basis of first name of candidates as per alphabetical order.
