Education Qualification for SSC JHT Recruitment

Junior Hindi Translator/Junior Translator:

  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. AND
  • Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Senior Hindi Translator:

  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. AND

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.

How to Apply for SSC JHT Recruitment 2019

Those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria, they can apply online for JHT posts through the official website on or before last date that is 26th September 2019 (17:00). SSC provides two parts to fill online application. These are:

Part I Registration: Candidates need to fill basic information, Click on submit button and you will get the page generated registration number. Keep it safe for next step of registration

Part II Registration: The application process is incomplete without Part II Registration. Part II registration contains filling of payment details, uploading of photograph and scanned signature. You can pay fee online through SBI net banking/debit card/credit cards

Instruction to Upload Image and Signature

  • Image and signature must be in JPG format.
  • The size  of image must be less than 12kb and greater than 4 Kb
  • Resolution must be 100-pixel widths by 120 pixels heights
  • The digital size of the fill must be less than 12 kb and greater than 1 Kb
  • Resolution for the signature image must be 140-pixel width by 60 pixels height.

SSC JHT Recruitment: Selection Process

  • The selection process will be based on Computer-Based Mode Examination followed by document verification.
  • The written exam can consist of Paper-I and Paper-II and each will carry 200 marks.
  • Based on the performance in Paper-I + Paper-II, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification.

SSC JHT Exam Pattern 2019:

Paper-I ( Objective Type):

  • Paper-I will be in objective type for 200 Marks for General Hindi/General English with the duration 2 Hrs.
  • Out of the total, General Hindi will be conducted for 100 marks and General English will be conducted for 100 marks.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
  • Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examinations (Paper-I), in case
    conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized and such normalized scores will be
    used to determine final merit.

SSC JHT  Recruitment (Junior Hindi Translator) Syllabus:

For Paper-I:

  • Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): The questions will be designed to test the
    candidates’ understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases  12 and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be of degree level.

For Paper-II:

  • This paper will contain two passages for the translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi.
  • An Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
  • The level of the paper will be consistent with the educational qualifications prescribed.

Resolution of Tie Cases:

In case of more than one candidate secures the equal aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:

  • Total marks in Paper-II.
  • Total marks in Paper-I.
  • Date of birth, with older candidates, placed higher.
  • Alphabetical order in the names of the candidates.

SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) 2019 Admit Card

All the registered candidates will be assigned Roll numbers which will be placed on the website of the concerned Regional Office about two weeks before the date of the examination.

Note:

  • Admission certificates (ACs) for the examination indicating the time table and also venues of examination for each candidate will be placed on the website of the concerned Regional Office about two weeks before the date of examination.
  • It will not be sent by post.
  • It is compulsory to carry at least one original Photo ID such as Voter’s ID, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, ID Cards issued by Government or other Offices where the candidates may be working. Candidates without such ID cards will not be allowed entry into the Examination Halls/ Skill Test venues.
  • Candidates must bring 3 passport size photographs for affixing it in the Commission’s copy of Admission Certificate in the presence of Invigilator, if required. Candidates not carrying photographs will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  • Candidate are advised to keep 10 copies of the same photograph, which was uploaded/affixed in the application form, with them till the completion of entire examination process.
