Every year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the notification of Central Police Organisation (CPO) vacancies for the post of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector. Along with the notification the Commission also release CPO SI-ASI salary. After the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary for CPO is ₹ 35,400 with a gross salary of ₹ 47,496.

SSC CPO Salary: Basic Allowances Provided

House Rent Allowance(HRA)

House rent allowance will depend on the class of city you are living in. HRA shall not be less than Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm at X, Y & Z class cities respectively.

  • @ 24% of Basic pay for X category of cities
  • @ 16% of Basic Pay for Y category of cities
  • @ 8% of Basic Pay for Z category of cities

HRA shall be revised to 27%, 18% & 9% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when Dearness Allowance (DA) crosses 25% and further to 30%, 20% and 10% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when DA crosses 50%

Dearness Allowance (DA)

The Dearness Allowance is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is currently 12% Of basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission. 

Transport Allowance (TA)

The rate of transport allowance per month various according to the place you are living in as mentioned below:

  • Employees posted in the cities: Rs.3600+DA thereon
  • Employees posted at all other places: Rs.1800+DA thereon

Diet allowance/Ration Money

Diet Allowance or Ration money is provided to the CPO employees to cater their diet needs. The Diet allowance of Rs 101.5 is provided to SI in Delhi Police. Ration money of Rs.97.85 per head per day is admissible to SI in CISF.

Children Education Allowance/Hostel subsidy

  • CEA @ Rs.2250/- per month (Total Rs.27000/- per annum) for children studying class Nursery to 12th class. Whenever DA increases by 50%, CEA shall increase by 25%.
  • Hostel subsidy @ Rs.6750/- per month (Total Rs.81000/- per annum) for children studying in hostel. Whenever DA increases by 50%, CEA shall increase by 25%.

Dress Allowance

Rs.10,000/- (Annual) Constable to Inspector in the month of July of every year.

Risk /Hardship Allowance

The risk/hardship allowance is given according to the region. The sub-inspectors working in remote and dangerous areas are given this allowance according to the level of risk. Officials posted in areas of high-risk zone are given an extra allowance.

SSC CPO Salary: SSC CPO Promotion Procedure

Aspirants are selected for the ASI post and join the CISF. Candidates are liable to get promoted to the rank of sub-Inspector, basically after five years of continuous service. The promotion of the aspirants from ASI to SI are carried out on the basis of Zonal Security and candidates have very little chance of getting your first promotion before at least 7-8 years of service. Aspirants can also get promotion othrough departmental exams as well to fast-track the process.
