How to calculate SSC CGL Result for Tier 1: The score of the exam will be all based on the number of question candidate will attempt. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be allotted and for each wrong answer 0.5 marks (1/2) will be deducted as per the marking scheme of the exam. The marks will be allotted or deducted from the total of 200 scores.


The candidates who have been shortlisted will be eligible to appear for Tier 3 descriptive paper, data entry skill test, computer proficiency test, and document verification.

SSC CGL Result 2018 of Tier 3

The result of SSC CGL Tier 3 will be declared in January 2020. The exam of which will be conducted on 29th December 2019. The descriptive test of SSC CGL will be conducted for total 100 marks. Candidates are required to minimum qualifying marks of 33 % out of 100. Candidates need to qualify the test to be shortlisted for Tier 4 exam.

SSC CGL Result 2018 of Tier 4

The SSC CGL Tier 4 result will be declared in February/March 2020. The Tier 4 exam will be conducted on February 2020. Tier 4 will be held for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax), Assistant Section Officer of CSS Assistant Section Officer (MEA) and Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and Assistant (GSI). This Tier is qualifying in nature.

Key points of SSC CGL Result 2018

  • The final result of SSC CGL 2018 will be declared based on the overall performance of candidates in Tier 1, 2 and 3.
  • Candidates need to qualify in all the tiers separately.
  • There will be no sectional cutoff marks.
  • The commission will draw an All India Merit list for each category of post.
  • Candidates who are found by the commission to have qualified the examination shall be recommended for appointment in each category of post.
  • Tier-I examination is used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier-II examination for various papers.
  • Marks of such screened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for final ranking of candidates for selecting them for the Computer Proficiency Tests/ Data Entry Skill Test and also for final selection.
  • The merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the written examination and post preferences.
