SSC CGL Recruitment 2021 – Selection Process
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) every year in four levels for various posts. Selection Process – The examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

This is good for preparing to make a note of the SSC CGL Exam Pattern & Syllabus, before starting the exam SSC CGL preparation. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2021 for Tier 1 & 2 are given below:
- SSC CGL 2019 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam will be held online.
- A descriptive paper is introduced which will be of 100 marks with a time limit of 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.
- The time limit for examination of Tier -I is reduced from 120 minutes to 75 minutes.
- Tier II will remain the same.
- There will be no sectional cut off.
Exam Pattern – SSC CGL Recruitment
The SSC CGL Exam pattern consists of 4 Stages as mentioned above:
Stage 1: SSC CGL Tier-1 – SSC CGL Recruitment
→ It is a computer-based online test of 200 marks in 60 minutes of time duration. There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut off.

→ This is an online based examination consisting of 4 papers as mentioned in the table. There is no sectional cut off. The negative marking for each wrong answer as follows:

Stage 3: SSC CGL Tier-3 – SSC CGL Recruitment
This is a descriptive type paper of 100 marks and will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode. It will be of total 60 minutes of time duration.
Stage 4: SSC CGL Tier-4 – SSC CGL Recruitment
→ Tier-IV of the SSC CGL Examination is Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). This test is of qualifying nature. The DEST test is for the Tax Assistant Post only.
