Is ssconline.nic.in Fake?

Many students have been complaining about the the site ssconline.nic.in being fake. But in reality its not. Checkout the reasons below:

  1. The website ssconline.nic.in is hosted on nic server. NIC stands for National Information Center. This is the IT arm of the Government of India.
  2. ssconline.nic.in is a subdomain of nic.in website. Since its hosted as a subdomain on nic server, therefore there is absolutely no chance that some fraudulent scamster got access to nic.in and made a subdomain. This proves that the website is indeed created by NIC and hence is a official website.
  3. The reason ssconline.nic.in is not mentioned in the official notification for ssc cgl 2016 is because this is not just a website for SSC CGL rather it will serve as a one point registration for various exams conducted by SSC throughout the year.

Many students have raised similar concerns on payment being made, but still the status of application showing pending on ssconline.nic.in. The reasons for this are:

  1. It’s a new website and hence delays in processing of the payments.
  2. It takes time to update the payment status on the frontend .(i.e. in your profile).
  3. It’s a government website.  (pun intended).
  4. Most importantly, people have started getting their confirmations from the website. Check the screenshot on a very reputed forum: pagalguy.com discussing this same issue. Checkout:ssconline.gov.in is not fake. proof

You can check the entire conversation here: http://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/ssc-cgl-tier-1-2016-preparation-25111443/40300114.

With all this said, we would suggest all the participants one thing. Apply on ssconline2.gov.in to avoid any confusions.
