How to find the square of numbers that end with 5?

For your reference, I have written down some numbers over here that are ending with 5 and I have also written squares of these numbers. I would like you to understand that the last two digits of squares of numbers that end with 5 will always be 25 so square of 65 is 4225.

Lets see examples for using this formula.

  1. Check if last digit is 5, if yes – square of 5 is 25
  2. Apply this formula for rest of the number i.e. Add 1 to the previous number and multiply each other. Example in case of square of 85, Add 1 to 8 to get 9 and multiply this with 8.
  3. Steps 1 and 2 together gives final answer.
