The RC was easy to read but lengthy. However, one could easily answer 5-7 questions.
Questions based on Antonyms, Synonyms, were easy.

Quantitative Aptitude Questions Asked in SBI PO Prelims Exam 2nd July 2016 

The Questions asked were:

Data Interpretation 

  • The number of students enrolled in dance from 2 colleges A and B were given for some years. Questions were asked. based on that.
  • C is 20% more efficient than A. A & B together can finish a work in 8 days. If B & C together can do the same work in 7.5 days, how much days will A take to finish the work alone?

Percentages and Ratio

  • A gave 20% salary to mother. Out of remaining half in insurance and PPF in ratio 5 : 3. If total of what he gave to mother and what invested in PPF is 12,600. Find A’s salary. (Ans – 36,000)

Problem on Age

  • A relation between the ages of 2 people is given. A new relation is given between their ages, 5 years hence. Calculate the age of one of them.
  • A  is 5 years younger than B. 20 years hence B’s age will be twice A’s age 5 years ago. Find B’s age 8 years hence. (Ans – 48)

Mensuration

  • 2 cylinders – radius in ratio 4 : 7. heights in ratio 2 : 1. find the ration of their volumes. (Ans – 32/49)

Interest

  • A sum is divided between two schemes A and B, which are at different rates of interests. Some value is given and a question is asked based on that.

Time and Work

  • C is 20% more efficient than A. A and B together can do work in 16 days. B and C together in 15 days. Find in how many days A alone can complete work. (Ans – 48 days)

Partnership

  • A started a business with an investment of INR 18000. After 4 months, B & C joined the business investing 27k and 36k rupees, respectively. A added 6k more. If difference amount of C & B’s share in the annual profit was INR 1320, What was the annual profit?
  • A invested Rs P in a scheme that offers 12% rate of interest for 3 yrs. He also invested Rs (P+400) in scheme which offers 10% at compound interest. The difference between the amounts received from both investments is Rs 304. Find P. (Ans -1200)
  • A invested Rs 16,000. After 6 months b and C joined with Rs 12000 and 18000 resp. and A added additional Rs 4000. After a year, difference between shares of A and B is Rs 6000. Find total profit.

Mixture

  • 120 l of mixture. Milk and water ratio 11 : 4. 45 litres of mixture withdrawn and 5 litres of milk added . Find the percentage of water in final mixture (Ans- 25%)

Mensuration

  • 2 cylinders are given and Ratio of their respective radius and height is also given. Find the ratio of their volumes.

Probability

  • 8 blue balls and 7 red balls. 3 balls chosen. Prob. that 2 are blue and 1 red. (Ans – 28/65)

Blood Relations

  • S is mother of D. K brother of D. M father of K. T mother of M. U husband of T. T mother of Y. T has only one son. 3 questions based on this

Direction Based

  • Direction sense something like – point A in west of point B, C in north of A,…. – 2 questions based on this

Seating Arrangement

  • 8 People sitting in a straight line. Some facing North and some facing South.

Puzzle (Ordering & Ranking)

  • 7 boxes of 7 different shapes . Seven boxes M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, of different shapes viz., Square, Triangular, Rectangular, Hexagonal, Conical, Pentagonal, and Octagonal, are stacked one above the other. The hexagonal box is immediately below M. Only two boxes are between the hexagonal box and the square box. More than two boxes are above the square box. Only one box is between the square box and R. O is immediately above R. Neither O nor S is a hexagonal box. S is immediately above the pentagonal box. S is not a square box. N is immediately above Q. Only one box is between N and the triangular box. N is above triangular box. Only two boxes are between the triangular and the octagonal box. The rectangular box is neither at the top nor at the bottom of the stack.
  • 7 boxes of 7 different shapes .   • B, C, D, E, F and G are arranged in no particular order of weight (in kg). C is not the heaviest. Only D weighs less than F. C weighs greater than B & E.

Miscellaneous

6 people have different marks.  Z only has marks greater than X. V has greater than Y but less than U. W has greater than both U and Y. Third highest has 39 and Y  has 24. ( Z X W U V Y ). 3 questions based on this

    I have a different query if you please like to give a solution.
    I am going to join as Oriental Bank PO. Previously I worked with different private organizations/ corporates and I mentioned that experience while filling up IBPS form. Now bank’s notification says they require “clean relieving certificate if employed”. But now its not possible for me to get one. What you say sir? Although they didn’t ask for it at the time of interview. Plz help.
