SBI PO Exam Pattern 2021 With Important Topics – Check Syllabus & Selection Process

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2020: State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the exam pattern for SBI PO recruitment 2020 along with the official notification on 14th November 2020. SBI PO 2020 will be conducted to recruit candidates as Probationary Officers (PO) in SBI. The SBI PO exam pattern lists the details of the marking scheme, sections of the exam, number of questions, distribution of questions and time allotted for all the stages of examination. SBI PO 2020 preliminary exam will be conducted on 31st Dec 2020 & 2nd, 4th , 5th Jan 2021. As per the exam pattern of SBI PO 2020, the preliminary stage consists of three sections and a total of 100 questions will be asked in the exam. The exam will be held online and candidates will have to complete their paper in 1 hour. Those who qualify the preliminary exam, will be eligible to appear for the mains exam which is further divided in two parts, objective and descriptive. According to the paper pattern of SBI PO, the objective and descriptive papers of mains exam will be held online on 29th January 2021. The objective paper of SBI PO will have 4 sections comprising 155 questions for 200 marks. Candidates will be given 3 hours to complete the objective paper, while the descriptive exam will be held for 30 minutes testing candidates’ English language skills. SBI PO Exam Pattern 2019 – Stages of examination

As per the SBI PO selection procedure, candidates participating in SBI PO 2019 recruitment will have to undergo all three phases of the selection process as given below.

  • Phase 1: Preliminary Examination
  • Phase 2: Main Examination
  • Phase 3: Group Exercises and Interview

SBI PO Exam Pattern – Mains (Phase II)

SBI PO Mains 2019 will be consist of 2 parts – Objective Test (200 marks) and Descriptive Test (50 marks). Both parts will take place online.

Exam Pattern of the Mains Descriptive Test: SBI PO Exam Pattern

The descriptive paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks assigned to the test of English Language. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay. You will be needed to secure passing marks to qualify the Descriptive Test, to be decided by the Bank.

 The Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2020 – Group Exercise & Interview (Phase III)

Aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both Objective and Descriptive Tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. A certain adequate number of candidates as decided by the bank, will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview.

Selection Procedure for SBI PO 2020

The selection procedure will be divided into 3 parts, consisting of 2 written papers and a third GD/Interview round. The Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total. Only those who qualify through Phase II will be eligible to attend Phase III processes. The scores of the remaining two rounds will be normalized to 100 as follows:
