How Much to Score in SBI PO Exam?

Before answering this question, let us see the cutoff cutoff of 2015 prelims

  • General: 47.50
  • OBC: 42.25
  • SC: 37.25
  • ST: 19.75

But that’s not all. The main point is that you need to clear sectional cut off in additional to overall cutoff as well which is generally around 12-15 marks for each section.

In Order to reach the the marks specified above, you need to

  • Attempt at least 70 percent questions overall to clear the overall cutoff
  • A minimum of 50% question in each section to clear the sectional cutoff

Is Scoring CutOff marks enough in SBI PO Exam??

In very simple language NO. The reason is that SBI calls 2.5-3 times the aspirants for GD and interview. It means more than half of the aspirants who got interview call will ultimately not be able to make it to the final merit. Generally these are those candidates who cleared cutoff on ,margin (Though there are some exceptions too.)

This is it for SBI PO cutoff. We will be sharing all updates related to Cutoff and more. We will also be sharing a series of preparation tips on SBI PO 2016 exam covering all the sections. If you have any queries/questions regarding sbi po cutoff, feel free to post them in the comments section below and we will be glad to answer them for you.

  1. If I clear the sectional cut off and couldn’t clear overall cut off in preliminary, then will I be eligible for mains exam???

  2. Sir I have attempted 36 quest eng 18 reasoning 11 April 7 with 99%accuracy. St category. Any chance for mains

  3. qualified. got 74.25.
can anyone shed light on ga section in sbi po mains.
the cut off was 13/14 in 2013/2014. but it jumped to 21.25 in 2015. has anyone analysed the reasons(level of difficulty, distribution of ques, number of vacancies)???
secondly, what will be the impact on cutff on ga section now that marketing and computers have been removed from ga section??

    • Yes there shall be a sharp reduction
First of all the marks are now 40 for general awareness… Earlier it was 50

Considering that oep would have got all the 10 marks.. we can expect a straight sharp reduction of atleast 5-7 marks.

Plus computer knowledge used to etcg a lot of marks.. Gk is trivial and is a gamble.. so people Will be attempting less now.

  4. Sir..approxly in how many days can one join in the job after getting selected?? Plzz tell me… Can that be postponed if v have any genuine reasons ???

  5. I attempted 17 questions in QA, 29 questions in english and 20 questions in reasoning …in english 6-7 may be wrong…do i have chance to qualify

  6. Sir I attempted English-29,arthimatics-19,reasoning-10. Total-53 with 90% accuracy.plz suggest me can I prepare fr mains r not

  7. Sir I have a confusion that in above u said in one section total marks secured by last ranked student selected (out of 100) general – 58.93 and just below that cut off marks for prelims last year 2015 general-47.50 so what’s the difference between them two?? I mean what are those two different marks for??

  8. Sir/mam- pls help me..
Im pre paring for exam…im good in eng, resoning and enough in QA..i have good knowledge. I know I can crack every exam, but problem is I feel very low at exam time,I dont have that confidence..I dont know what to do,how to overcome this and get confidence

    • If you have prepared well for the exam then you don’t need to worry. Even at times i feel low because of failed attempts. But you have to tell yourself that you can do it. Believe in yourself more and you will be one step closer to achieving it. Don’t get disheartened. If you want this bad then give it your all and don’t give up. When gloom takes over give yourself a pep talk. Be aware of what are the important things in exam. Build your strengths first. The topics which you are good in..perfect them. Then try to improve your weak areas. Time management is the key in competitive exams. You should know which questions to attempt and which ones to leave. Keep Practicing. Take a break once in a while. Don’t stress much. Try to keep yourself calm and Keep working hard. Hard work pays off and its the only way to achieve success.

  9. I am wprking in Oriental bank of Commerce since last 1 year as PO…………is it worth
