  1. I know predicting cutoff for any exam is a tough thing, bt I have a piece of advise for mock bank, pls don’t troll students when they say that exam was tough cutoff might go low.. Wo IAS madam kaha gayi ab jisne ek bande ko khoob sunaya tha yaha uske Kehne pe k cutoff Kam jayega… You guys are here to guide students and really good at it bt pls try to listen too what students have to say… BTW I am a selected candidate of sbi po 2017 and I have been alloted bhopal circle.. Bt I was traumatized by your post after giving mains so please do complete research before guiding students because your words means a lot to students.. Thank you.

  2. No. Of candidates for mains exam are same as in last year..difficulty level is far higher in comparison to last year.ibps po cutoff was 52.5.else you are quite intelligent

  3. Everybody is saying ki cut off bhaut kam jaegi but mujhe nahi lagta.. In fact lagta hai ki zada na jae kyuki bhaut se logo ka exam sahi bhi hua. Really confused.. What to do ?

    • Personally, I don’t feel the cut off is going to reduce. If at all, it does, it surely won’t be less by 10-15 marks as a lot of aspirants are claiming. But just like I told everyone else, I’ll tell you the same thing that only SBI can reveal the final cut off. We can just be as precise as possible. Lets see.

You don’t need to be confused. Why wait for the cut off ? Start preparing for your PI immediately. No point losing precious time.

  4. kya khaake daali hai post. Pichle saal cutoff including descriptive for general 90 thi. Maine clear kara tha mains isliye pata hai. Kuch bhi mat daal dia karo

    • I’m assuming you saw the earlier version of the article. The cut off for UR category for the year 2016 for Mains was 70 and for descriptive was 20.

As for , “kuch bhi mat daala karo” – We don’t. Our users matter to us and so does their feedback.

  5. Sorry to say but ye faltu ka prdiction Mt kriye itne to log attempt hi kiye h cutoff kha se ayega senseless

    • Kitne logo se baat krke aye hai aap ?

Apko prediction achi nahi lagi, koi baat nahi. Apka hak hai alag opinion rakhne ka and hum respect karte hai uska. Lekin prediction ko bkwas bolna, bina jaane ki eske peche ek poori expert team baithti hai, ye sahi nahi.

The one thing that I just don’t understand about aspirants is that how they visit website after website looking for the ideal score they want to see published. Ideally that time could have been used in preparing for the next stage of the exam or for any of the forthcoming exams.

There are exams like RBI Grade B , CSE, and SEBI coming up. As a successful CSE aspirant and an ex Officer at MHA, Govt. of India, I know that what matters is the devoted hours you put in for preparation. Nothing else matters.

      Best wishes.

        • No why sorry, It is your stance and I respect it . I really do. No sarcasm intended. But I just feel that aspirants spend way more time worrying about the cut off that SBI or any organization would post eventually anyway. Why not invest that time studying. That is all.

Disagreement is not a bad thing. It shows that you are curious. The question is whether it is worth it. Finally what will matter is your name in the merit list. Nothing else.

I wish you my best. Score well.

        • Galat hai ya sahi hai ye toh sirf SBI vale hi bta sakte hai. We’ve posted what we felt is right after consultation with experts. Hence the words ‘predicted’ and ‘expected’.

If only aspirants spent more time in preparing than waiting for the cut off to be released. But I guess that is personal call. Some aspirants prioritize success while others keep speculating!!

  6. 50-55 for general in mains. Also DI cutoff is going to be less than the previous years. I think maybe 4-5 marks will be the cutoff.

    • DI cut off will surely be less Anshu. I completely agree. But the overall cutoff won’t reduce even though majority of the aspirants feel otherwise. Lets see.

All the best for your result.

  7. hello mam i got 60 marks in prelims but i am too weak in general awareness section can u please give me the expected cutoff marks section wise for mains in obc category and any tips to clear general awareness section in these last 15 days . I started preparation from march and concentrated only on prelims so completely ignored general awareness i need the min marks in this section i can do well in other sections so overall cut off i can manage please do give advise regarding general awareness for these 10 days so i can achieve min cutoff

  8. Akriti Mam thank uuuuuuuuuuuu… I qualified. Apne bola tha ki mere score pe hojaega. Thank u so much. Please guide me for mains too.

      • I didn’t.. I scored low in eng..only 12.25.. I am trying to focus on etymology .. Everyday at least 4-5 roots words.. So can do good in next exam… Also wll do practice set for eng as we’ll..
I have a question mam… Suppose if someone is working as PO in any of the ibps bank… Then can he apply for SBI PO? After serving minimum service period.. I guess which is 2-3 yr..? Pls guide regarding this

        • You did. But its ok since we got the range right.

Now coming to your question –

Let me confirm it 100% and then get back to you.

          As for English, here’s a suggestion –

Only etymology will not help. You will have to learn to use new words in at least 3-5 correct sentences in different contexts. That is how you will remember the words and their meanings forever. Also, start conversing in English fluently. It will benefit you.

  9. I am from Himachal Pradesh. Can u tell me whther cutoffs for SBI po are out on state wise basis. I am scoring 49. Belong to UR category. Should I prepare for Mains.

        • I just mentioned above how you know stuff better than all of us.

I’m just an Ex Official with Ministry of Home Affairs. Civil Services toh halwa hai . Koi bhi karsakta hai . Top 150 me aana All India bhi bhaut asan hai .Haina ?

So mere opinion ka apke samne kya matlab. Apko experts ka opinion sahi nahi lagta toh apko kaise misguide karsakte hai hum.

          • Ohhh God… Mam in ur profile I found you have studied english literature..and have good command over it.. I do score average in english..I can attempt 30questions in 15 Min in bank exam..can read complete para of rc as well in 3-4 min .. I am trying to read editorial Frm Hindu ET TOI… But score always 13-15-18… Want to get my score up to 25-27.. I thought I can get some guidance from you…

          • Yes I haven’t just studied Literature but am absolutely in love with it. I also happen to have 2 gold medals in the same ,both in Graduation and Masters. Got an exclusive fellowship for it by UGG, New Delhi. I guess one’s passion makes us excel in it.

Don’t read TOI editorials. Read Hindu editorials and always keep a dictionary handy. You will gain immensely from the Hindu. You might find it difficult at first but totally worth it.

If you have any additional queries for English, you can contact me on my blog or on Quora or even here (even though I tend to miss out questions here sometimes).

I don’t mind helping sincere aspirants ever. But I have a problem with foul language. So it is a request that you don’t use it here or any platform for that matter. I hope you understand what I am pointing at here.

            Best wishes.

    • i expect cut off to be between 46-50.. and + /- 10 is not prediction any way.. tukka lagana bolte h use.. heheheh

      • Theek hai . Aap experts se bharh ke hai. Aap successful students se bharkr hai.

Since you find the platform useless, let the other 2 million users visit us. You’re free to visit any other website. I guess that is fair enough.

    • Kam se kam jab abuse krte ho, toh asli identity se toh karo. Kis cheez ka etna darr. Jaise CIL pe Akshay Jaiswal ka hal hua that, uss incident se darr rahe ho kya ? Usko toh Order summon hogya tha ? Tumko bhi chaie.

P:S If you feel that by abusing anonymously, you’ll be safe and we won;t be able to track you down, you’re HIGHLY mistaken. I am an ex Officer with Ministry of Home Affairs, Governmt of India, Mr. “tera buda” so next time before you abuse on any of my articles, not just here but across the internet, not only will I shame you publicly but send a summon to you ON YOUR ADDRESS . Try not letting your parents down.

      • Ma’am ye jo aap comments hata te nahi yaha, ya toh screenshot laga dete ho, bhaut acha krte ho. Ye kuch non -serious aspirants ka kaam hi gand failana hai .Apka background pta ni hoga shayad. I still remember the CIL incident when that fellow made a public apology.

These non-serious fellows misuse educational platforms.

        • No point blocking miscreants. Anybody who abuses ought to be publicized. As far as CIL incident is concerned, the fellow apologized so we let it go. He learnt his lesson and along with him a thousand others.

Anyways best wishes for your result.
