SBI Clerk recruitment will be one of the biggest job notifications in the banking sector for this year.  It is expected to be released this month. The SBI Clerk examination will be held in 2 distinct phases – SBI Clerk Preliminary examination and SBI Clerk Mains examination 2017. The final selection will happen taking into account the marks of the Mains examination only. The age limit of the applicants should not be below 20 years and not above 28 years as on 01.04.2017 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1989 and not later than 01.04.1997 (both days inclusive)

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2017: Period of Probation

Selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of joining. The newly appointed Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates will be on probation for a Minimum period of 6 months. 15 prescribed e-lessons will be required to be completed by newly recruited Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates during the probation, for getting confirmed in the Bank, failing which their probation will be extended till completion of the same.

15 prescribed e-lessons (for confirmation) will include role-based e-lessons. Further, before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose performance fails to meet Bank’s expectation, may be extended.

It is important to point out here that knowledge of regional language for the state you’re applying for is an absolute must if you plan to join SBI as a Clerk. Without knowledge of regional language, your candidature will be deemed ineligible.

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2017: Selection Procedure

The selection process will consist of on-line test (preliminary & main examinations), test of official and/or local language and subject to Government of India approval, interview Phase-I (though not approved as of now).

Phase-I : Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows –

Phase II: Main Examination

Phase III: Test of knowledge of Local language

Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if interview is held) /before final selection (if interview is not held). Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

SBI Clerk Recruitment Selection Procedure: Important Points

1.Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.
2.The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi.
3.The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
4.There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
5.Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level.
6.Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
