SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020: Age Criteria 

The age limit of the applicants should not be below 20 years and not above 28 years as on 01.04.2017 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1992 and not later than 01.01.2000 (both days inclusive).

SBI Clerk Recruitment – Period of Probation

Selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of joining. The newly appointed Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates will be on probation for a Minimum period of 6 months. 15 prescribed e-lessons will be required to be completed by newly recruited Junior Associates/ Junior Agricultural Associates during the probation, for getting confirmed in the Bank, failing which their probation will be extended till completion of the same.

15 prescribed e-lessons (for confirmation) will include role-based e-lessons. Further, before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose performance fails to meet Bank’s expectation, may be extended.

Knowledge of Regional Language

It is important to point out here that knowledge of regional language for the state you’re applying for is an absolute must if you plan to join SBI as a Clerk. Without knowledge of regional language, your candidature will be deemed ineligible.

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020: Selection Procedure

The selection process will consist of on-line test (preliminary & main examinations), test of official and/or local language and subject to Government of India approval, interview Phase-I (though not approved as of now).

Phase-I : Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows –

Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual test OR for aggregate score. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

Phase II: Main Examination

The structure of main examination (online objective type) would be as follows –

Phase III: Test of knowledge of Local language

Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if interview is held) /before final selection (if interview is not held). Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

SBI Clerk Recruitment Selection Procedure: Important Points

1. Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.

3. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
4. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
5. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level.
6. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.

SBI Clerk 2020 Admit Card

Registered candidates will be required to download SBI Clerk Admit Card 2020 from the official website of State Bank of India. The hard copy of the SBI Clerk admit card won’t be couriered to applicants. The admit card for SBI Clerk Exam 2020 will be released in two stages – admit card for preliminary exam, the admit card for mains exam.
