SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2019-20: SBI Clerk Notification 2019 is out and the SBI Clerk Exam Pattern is also released. In this year same Exam Pattern with the previous year Exam Pattern. The SBI Clerk Prelims and Main exam were separately timed.

The Exam Pattern followed by State Bank of India for the Post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in Clerical Cadre has been detailed below…

Exam Pattern Details:  State Bank of India conducts on-line test (preliminary & main examinations), test of official and/ or specified opted local language and subject to Government of India approval for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in Clerical Cadre.

SBI Clerk Selection Process 2019

The selection procedure of SBI Clerk Recruitment consists of 3 different stages as mentioned below:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
  3. Test of Official and/or Local Language

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern for Prelims Exam 2019-20

Preliminary Examination (online) consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Important Points:

  • Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests.
  • 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed.
  • Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

Important Points:

  • Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above.
  • The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
  • Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject are prescribed.
  • Merit list will be drawn State wise, category wise. Candidates qualified in the test (main examination) will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern – Negative Marking

SBI Clerk exam has negative marking for wrong answers. According to SBI Clerk Exam Pattern, for each wrong answer, one-fourth of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted. However, there is no penalty for questions not attempted.

As can be seen, one needs to maintain a fine balance between speed and accuracy to score high in this exam. Your preparation plan must look after both these aspects to ensure you do not lose valuable time in the exam or lose marks due to silly mistakes.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern – Local Language Test

If you have studied the official (local) language or local level at 10th level and have proof as a certificate, you will not be subject to an additional Language Test. If not so, you will be required to take a language test which will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining.

SBI Clerk Final Selection 2018 – SBI Clerk Exam Pattern

Final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SBI Clerk Main exam. The marks obtained in prelims exam will not be added towards the final selection. Merit List will be drawn state wise & category wise.
