SBI Apprentice Syllabus 2020: State Bank Of India (SBI) has released a notification announcing registration for SBI Apprentice recruitment 2020 to fulfill 8500 vacancies. The exam pattern has been revised by the authority and divided into two sections. SBI Apprentice Selection Procedure

Selection for engagement of apprentices would be done on the basis of two stages as follows-

i) Online Written Test

ii) Test of Local Language.

SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern 2020

SBI will conduct only one online exam to make a selection of suitable candidates for SBI Apprentice 2020. SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern and details are provided below.

  • All the questions will be Objective Type MCQs
  • Questions will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi
  • There will be negative marking, for every incorrect answer 1/4th marks assigned to the question will be deducted
  • There will be no penalty for unanswered questions
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 parts, each containing 25 questions for 25 marks
  • You will get 15 minutes for each section and the total duration of the exam will be 1 hour

Applicants who qualify for the online exam will have to appear for the Local Language Test, however, the applicants who have studied the local language at class 10th or 12th level will be exempted from the Local Language Test.

Minimum Qualifying Marks :

Applicants are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD applicants, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the SBI Bank. There are no minimum qualifying marks for the individual subjects. The merit list will be drawn State wise and category wise. Applicants qualified in the test will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories. In case more than one applicants score the same marks as cut-off marks in the merit list (common marks at the cut off point) such applicants will be ranked in the merit list according to their age in descending order in respective States and categories.

SBI Apprentice Exam Syllabus:

General/ Financial Awareness: Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, Banking, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture & Banking Sector. Questions from Marketing will also be in ample amounts to Test Your Knowledge.

English Language: Verb, preposition, adverb, subject-verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles, etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

Test of Reasoning: Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.

Computer Awareness: Basic of Computers, Computer Organization, Generations of computer, Input & Output Device, Shortcuts & Basic knowledge MS word, MS Excel, MS power point, Memory Orientation, Internet, LAN, WAN, Modem, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day Technology. Remember short cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel & Computer Abbreviations.

Quantitative Aptitude: Questions will be asked from Simplification, Number Series, Quadratic Equations Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart.

Test of the local language :

  • The specified local languages of the states are as mentioned in Para A of the advertisement.
  • The candidates applying for vacancies in a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) of the specified local language of that State as mentioned in Para A of the advertisement.
  • The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process.
  • It will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify for this test will not be engaged for the apprentice.
  • Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ Certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
  • Candidates will have to appear for the test of specified opted local language at a center (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expenses.

Medical Examination:

Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank.
