Current Ages Ratio 9: 4

After 5 Years Ratio 10:5 ( this is as good as 2:1)

Now both the ages are increased by 5 years and from my ratios I can see it as 1.

So 1 part corresponds to 5 and at this rate the current age of the father which is 9 parts will be 45.

Question 2

Assume CP is 100.

=> SP is 115 (Since sold at 15% profit)

Now, if the same article is bought for 15% less, CP = 85 & SP = 102 (Since a gain of 20% is made)

Now for a CP of 100, the SPs differ by 115 – 102 = 13.

Since, in the question the SPs differed by 78, the CP must be (78/13) x 100 = 600

In 1 hr, that part of the tank that will be filled is (1/2 – 1/3) = 1/6. Hence, the entire tank will be filled in 6 hrs

Now the same number of Child Days can be contributed by 8 Children in (18 x 12)/8 = 27 days

Total Sweets Required = 65 x 13 + 4 x 26 = 949

Hence (15/125) x 20 = 2.4

Downstream Speed = 13 & Upstream Speed = 7

Speeds Ratio is 13:7

=> Times Ratio is 7:13

From the ratio, the times differ by 6 parts and this is given as 12 hrs.

So time taken to go Downstream which is 7 parts will be 14 hrs.

Finally Distance = Downstream Speed x Time = 13 x 14 = 182 (Again you can use the unit’s digit shortcut to choose answer)

Total Cards = 52

Probability = 2/52 = 1/26
