Life Insurance Corporation of India has issued notification to recruit interested candidates for appointment to the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) (Generalist/ IT/ Charted Accountant/ Actuarial/ Rajbhasha) vacancies. Candidates who wish to apply for any of the posts under the LIC recruitment 2019 should be well-aware of the changes introduced by LIC this year.This test will be conducted as per official exam pattern of LIC AAO.

As per the official notification, LIC is aiming to recruit 590 candidates from this exam. The distribution of vacancies is as stated below:

Salary of LIC AAO 

  • Applicants applying for the posts of “Assistant Administrative Officer” in LIC AAO 2019 will be receiving approximately the monthly emolument of Rs.56, 000 /- (inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance).
  • Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance , Vehicle Loan (2- wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules.

*LIC AAO Probation period is one year, extendable up to 2 years.

*Guarantee Bond: Before joining as a Probationer, candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including probationary period) failing which, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs.200,000/-only (Rupees Two Lakhs only)

LIC AAO Eligibility

1. LIC AAO Age Limit (as on 01-02-2020)

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules

2. LIC AAO Education Qualification (As on 01.02.2020)

LIC AAO (Generalists): The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university.
LIC AAO (IT): The candidate must be a graduate in engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics) or have completed his MCA or MSc (Computer Science) from a recognized university.
LIC AAO (Chartered Accountant): The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. He should also have passed the final exam of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and be an Associate Member of the same.
LIC AAO (Actuarial): The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. He should also have passed Paper CT1 and CT5 plus 4 or more other papers of the exam conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India/Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
LIC AAO (Rajbhasha): The candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Hindi/English/Sanskrit with English/Hindi/English & Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.

    Cutoff is always calculated in terms of marks. So if 8 is the cutoff means a minimum of 8 marks have to be obtained in that section.

  5. sir, previous sectional cut off were given like, 8 in numerical ability , 9 in reasoning etc., please tell me that, 8 questions need to be cleared or 8 marks need to be scored?

    So just take a printout of the admit card now. That would be sufficient for now

    LIC will calculate its marks separately and they may negative marking as well.

  16. If you haven’t taken out printout do not worry. Just check your mail from LIC it will have your username and password. You can use that to download the admit card when its out.

  19. the authenticity of previous year’s papers is in question here. We would rather go by this year’s notification. paper will be of PO nature.

  24. I do not think it would affect your selection. When answering in the interview stage make sure to tell your aggregate %.

  76. I have a doubt here: Find the statement as mentioned below,

    “candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/12/1985 and not later than 01/12/1994 (both days inclusive)
    Add +5 for SC/ST, +3 for OBC , +10 for PWD(General)”

    What does above statement says?
    Candidates from SC/ST category can appear for the exam till 35 and candidates from OBC category can appear for the exam till 33.

    This what means right?

  78. Yes shailendra, i asked my university, i am confirmed. And that is the common sense, try to calculate your higher secondary or secondary exam marks in that way which i told, and you will gate same result. But i am not sure that your percentage is 65.40, because as per AICTE rule 6.54 means 57.9%, first be sure about your percenrage then follow the method which i have told.

  84. Shailendra, if your percentage is 65.40%, then multiply 65.40 with the total number of subjects you had in, then you can get aggregate marks, and maximam marks would be total number of sujcets × 100

  85. BTech is eligible for LIC AAO Ryan. Please enroll yourself ASAP. Look for others option in the form or fill it under Science.

  93. For students who have got only cgpa, i suggest them convert your cgpa into percentage, then multiple with the total number of subjects you had in
    Example- if you got 60% marks in, and your total number of subject is 74. Then maximum marks would be- 7400
    Aggregate marks obtained would be- 74×60= 4440

    In our university we are given grades and not marks. So what should i write in aggregate marks and maximum marks?

  96. Your aggregate of UG marks is what counts. If you want to convert CGPA to percentage ask your university/LIC for conversion criteria. But in all you would only need your UG marks to be eligible for LIC AAO

  97. It means you wont leave LIC before completion of four years. If you do you are liable to pay Rs 2,00,000 (Two Lakh ) to LIC.

  105. Hi Darshni. LIC is the best place to work for females. They have employee friendly policies. To further alleviate your concerns, my mother is in LIC from last 19 years. So yes i can pretty much vouch for LIC’s suitability for female policies. They will give you transfer in your home state and you can request a transfer for your hometown. They will tranfer readily if vacancies are there.

  107. English test is qualifying in nature means you will need to clear sectional cutoff for this section. If you are unable to clear cutoff for English you will not be able to clear the exam. However if you clear sectional cutoff for English , the scores of english won’t be counted for ranking. Meaning ranking will be decided on the basis of scores in other sections.
