LIC AAO will be conducted on 5th, 6th and 13th March 2016. This means you have only 7 days left for the most coveted exam of the insurance industry. We have already done a  series of articles on LIC AAO preparation. In our series of preparation tips we covered the pattern/syllabus, study plan, preparation tips and expected cutoffs of individual sections viz, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Computer Knowledge and English Language. Now, as only one week is left, the scenario is entirely different. Today we will do a comprehensive analysis of what you should do in the last 7 days so that you get selected in the exam.

Let us put the basic thing first. DO NOT study anything new now. You have to utilize your each and every second now. For the coming  7 days, make a plan. In this article, we will share with you a well researched and highly practical Study Plan. The plan has been designed by LIC AAO previous year exam toppers. But before starting that plan, let us first clear our basic Knowledge of the LIC AAO Exam. The Knowledge that is more important than even the preparation of exam ie “What is the pattern and What are my chances”

As per the official notification, LIC is aiming to recruit 700 candidates from this exam. And for the above 700 posts, more than 10 Lakhs aspirants will compete. That means odds of selection are very tough.The Online examination will be of objective type, multiple choices of 120 minutes (2 hrs) duration with the following pattern:

There will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer. As per this pattern, solving one question of Reasoning and quantitative Aptitude will fetch you more marks than computer or General knowledge. Also you have to just qualify in English and its marks will not be counted for ranking

Day 1 of LIC AAO Exam Last Week Booster

  • Task 3: Revise General Awareness Section
  • The level of difficulty will be moderate and questions will mostly be asked from the topics like Insurance
    Awareness and Finance, National and international affairs, Static GK ( Awards , sports, festivals, Important Days, Schemes)
  • The key point here is that first you should solve only those questions in which you are 100 % sure.

Day 2 of LIC AAO Exam Last Week Booster

  • Task 1: Give a mock test at the same time you that you have in the real exam. This will help your biological clock to become more active during that time frame.
  • Task 2: Analyse the test for at least an hour. Identify your weak areas and practice some more questions from those areas.
  • Task 3: Revise Quantitative Aptitude Section and make handy notes where all important formulas and shortcut tricks are written.

  • As we know that the English section is only qualifying in nature. It means the cutoff for English will not be high. It will be just to check your basic knowledge of the language section of LIC AAO Exam.
  • To qualify in English section, keep your focus on RC, Cloze passage, parajumbles and fill in the blanks.
  • The key point here is that first you should solve those questions which are easy and take less time like cloze test and error spotting.

Day 6 of LIC AAO Exam Last Week Booster

  • Task 1: Give a mock test at the same time you that you have in the real exam. This will help your biological clock to become more active during that time frame.
  • Task 2: Analyse the test for at least an hour. Identify your weak areas and practice some more questions from those areas.
  • Task 3: Revise the handy notes of Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.

Day 7 of LIC AAO Exam Last Week Booster

  • Task 1: Give a mock test at the same time you that you have in the real exam. This will help your biological clock to become more active during that time frame.
  • Task 2: Analyse the test for at least an hour. Identify your weak areas and practice some more questions from those areas.
  • Task 3: Give one more mock test or Relax (whichever your mind feels like doing)

Exam Day: Before the Exam

  • Have a light and healthy Breakfast
  • Leave a bit Early
  • Take some deep breaths

  1. During the exam, don’t try to attempt anything which you haven’t come across before.
  2. First attempt only those  sections in which you are more confident.
  3. Score maximum marks in it.
  4. This would increase your performance and confidence.
  5. It will definitely help you in scoring in your weak areas as well.
  6. Make a timeline and stick to it.
  7. Don’t attempt a section for much time.
  8. First clear the sectional cutoff of all the sections.
  9. There are some questions that look complex but actually are very easy.
  10. This is how you you should attempt.
  11. First read the question in 5 seconds.
  12. Take a breath and try to remember if you have seen such questions while you were preparing.
  13. If you are able to figure out how to solve it quickly, then go for it. If you are unable to identify how to solve it in less than a minute, skip that question as of now.
  14. Remember you only get less than a minute to solve a question.
  15. So instead of wasting time do other simple questions first.
  16. Time is your most important commodity here, not your ego.You can solve those lengthy questions later
  17. Solving 70-80% questions with 100% accuracy is better than solving 100% questions with 70-80% accuracy.
  18. Not only solving more questions require more time it also effects your overall score due to negative marking.

    Please clarify my doubt..English marks won’t b counted for rank list..so only remaining 4 section marks will b counted..is it so?? Does that mean it’s out of 300??
