Current Affairs Today 1 : Surya Kiran’ – The 9th Indo-Nepal combined battalion training exercise in Pithoragarh enters 4th day.

Here a battalion of Indian Soldiers along with an equivalent number of Nepalese army would engage in discussions and share their experiences. Surya_Kiran

This operation is under the protection of Panchshul Brigade of Central Command.

Key Facts regarding Operation ‘Surya Kiran’:

The 1st series of Surya Kiran exercise between Indian and Nepal armies started in 2011 at vairangate in Mizoram.
Surya Kiran exercise started following an agreement reached during the 7th bilateral consultative group on security in 2011.
Surya Kiran-V||| was held at Salijhandi, Nepal, from 23rd feb 2015 to 07th march 2015

Current Affairs Today 2 : UAE’s ADNOC to store crude oil in India’s Strategic petroleum reserves.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) agrees to store its Crude oil (approximately 5.33 million tonnes) in India’s first Strategic Storage facility and has promised to let India keep 2/3rd of

adnocits oil.
This is done to guard against global price shocks and supply disruptions.

Additional Info:

This decision from ADNOC comes on the backdrop of the 3-day visit of the crown prince of UAE to India.
India is the world’s 4th largest oil consumer and imports about 80% of its oil needs.
ADNOC had previously leased space to South Korea.

Current Affairs Today 3 : Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh elected as President of South Asian Wrestling Federation:

Sharan, who is the President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), was unanimously elected for the top position in South Asian Wrestling Federation on the sidelines of the 12th SA Games.brijbhushan-sharan-singh

Tabiur Rehman from Bangladesh was elected as the Secretary General.
