  6. Respected Sir,

I am having a query regarding “Work Experience” section in IBPS PO application form.
What advantages or disadvantages will I get if I show or dont show my work experience. And if I show then what documents I need to submit at the time of document verification.

Kindly clear the air in this matter. Thank you so much in advance.

    • Work Experience is not mandatory for IBPS PO and there are no marks for it.
Most candidates join as freshers and they don’t have work experience.
If you did your graduation a few years back, then to justify that you were not sitting idle, you can show work experience.

      • I have a query-
While filling IBPS application, a column related to computer knowledge comes. what should I fill as I have no diploma, degree, or any other certificate. During Post graduation I read a subject namely – MIS Management Information System, This is mention in my marksheets also, will it be consider as a computer subject? can u guide what should i mention?

      • Thank You so much for clarifying. Actually I passed my grads in 2012. I was working in a private sector company till March, 2016. I had to leave my job because of my boss’s character. Things went sour, hope you can understand. I’m having the appointment letter and experience letter of the same, nothing else. That is why I’m bit worried. I mean in clerical its not needed right ?, because there is no interview. In PO, there is interview so I will have to show it to justify that I was not sitting idle. Right?
What is your take? Thanks again for guiding 🙂

        • These are additional preferences which might help you (say 1%) in scoring good at interviews. However it all depends on your presentation. As a lot of questions may arise from this topic in interview
          1. your job profile
          2. Technical expertise
          3. Why did u left
          4. Why did not u raise ur voice against your boss attrocities
          5. What if it happens again in your banking career. will u again opt to leave the job.

So if u r ready to take advantages of your work experince, be prepared to counter these questions.

          • Thank you so much for guidance. In that case, I am definitely not going to tell them anything from 3-5. What about the document verification process if I update my work experience. And if I don’t, then what reasons do candidates who have done their graduation few years back give in interview. Thanks again for your help, it really means a lot 🙂

          • Generally, People say that they were preparing for Exams.
But in your case, you can show your work experience.
As per the Questions that are likely to be asked, simply say that your previous job was also good, and the reason you left that was that now you want to work in government sector, because of the job security, power and other such positive reasons.

          • Updated. Thanks a ton for guiding me through this. Umm…1 last query, should I update my work experience in IBPS clerk too. I mean there will be no interview so work experience doesn’t matter at all in clerk. Isn’t it? Thanks again for everything 🙂

          • if u r updating ur work exp then u must be in possession of joining letter / offer letter and relieving letter. if u r still working somewhere u should have No Objection certificate from ur present employer.
In IInd case if u r not updating ur work exp… u should have a valid answer for sitting idle after graduation. Just think urself why u were sitting idle. there must be a reason. Be true to urself u need not to justify others.
