The government has now decided to change their policy regarding police verification of candidates selected in government jobs. It is not called off, means you still will be undergoing that Police Verifications. But the criteria regarding employment has been made a bit flexible. As per this criteria, you can join the organisation even if you your police verification is pending.
This decision has been taken in the light of the delay that was being caused due to slower pace of Police Verification. The candidates will have to give an undertaking regarding their character and experience and they will be provided with a provisional allotment for joining the organisation.
The verification process may take place simultaneously.
A large number of organisations like UPSC, SSC, IBPS and various others will be following these policies for recruiting employees in Group A, B, C and D. The candidates selected by them are then allocated to different organisations where they undergo this verification process. Now these organisations will also be benefitted as the employees will be able to join quickly without waiting for the police verification process to commence.
The proposed policy announced by the Department of Personnel and Training stated “As a general policy, it is proposed that the police investigation would be conducted. But the appointment letters will not stop because of the pending police investigation . Police investigations generally takes two to six months. And because of it even after issue of appointment orders, filling of vacancies is delayed.
