GATE Notification 2021 – Registration (Starts 14th September 2021)

GATE Notification 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced the GATE 2021 dates. The authorities have released the official brochure at the official website GATE 2021 registration will start from 14 September 2020. The final date to apply for GATE 2021 is 30 September 2020.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE 2021 exam will be conducted on February 5 to 7 and 12 to 14. Two new subjects – have also been added in GATE exam 2021. Also, there will be relaxation in minimum eligibility for applying to GATE 2021 due to COVID-19 situation. As per the announcement, candidates in their third year of undergraduate degree will be eligible for GATE 2021. The addition of humanities and social science paper will also allow candidates from arts and commerce background to appear for the exam.

GATE 2021 will be conducted for a total of 27 subjects to shortlist the candidates to offer admission into M.E./M.Tech/PhD at the IITs, NITS, IIITs and CFTIs. GATE Eligibility Criteria 2021

The parameters that candidates will have to meet to be eligible to appear for the examination will be listed in the eligibility criteria of GATE 2021. Ineligible candidates could get their applications cancelled.

GATE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality – One needs to be a citizen of India. However candidates from other countries can apply for GATE 2021 if they meet the given eligibility criteria.

  • Age Criteria – No age limit.

  • Academic Qualification – The candidates should have completed or be in their pre-final/final year of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or Postgraduate (M.Sc) degree in any relevant science subject. For detailed info, candidates can refer below the given table.

  • Pass Percentage – No minimum pass percentage in the qualifying degree.

How to Fill GATE 2021 Application Form

Step 1 – Get Register – All the eligible candidates will have to register through GOAPS. Candidates will have to enter their name, email ID and mobile number during registration. On successful registration, an enrollment number will be generated. For login purposes, candidates will also have to create their choice of password and keep it safe

Step 2 – Fill Application Form – After registration, the candidates will have to enter all the requisite details in registration form like personal, educational and contact information. Along with this, details related to college and valid photo ID also need to be filled in the application form of GATE 2021. The candidates will also have to select their choice of GATE paper and exam centres.

Step 3 – Upload Scanned Images – The photograph, signature and category certificate (if applicable) will have to be scanned and uploaded as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.

Step 4 – Pay Application Fees – Pay the application fee as per the category one belongs to in online mode i.e., net banking/debit card/credit card.

Step 5 – Submission of Application Form – After completing the above given steps, the candidates will have to submit their application form.

How to Check GATE 2021 Application Form Status?

After submission of GATE 2021 registration, candidates will be able to check the status of their form. To check the status, candidates will have to log in through GOAPS. The status of the candidates will be mentioned accordingly as per the given categories:

  • Received

  • Under Scrutiny

  • Accepted

  • Defect Status

  • Status after Rectification

  • Rejected with Valid Reason

With the help of the application form/registration form status, the candidates will be able to know whether the authorities had received the form or not.

GATE Application Form Correction 2021

The authorities will publish the list of marked defects in the submitted registration form. Candidates will have to edit or rectify the highlighted defects within the given time period. Registered candidates can use the facility of application form correction to rectify the defects. Information such as exam paper, city, gender, category and applicant details will be open for correction during this procedure only for the registered candidates. GATE Syllabus 2021

IIT Bombay has released the syllabus of GATE 2021 in online mode. The syllabus consists of the subjects and topics that candidates will have to study to prepare for the exam. Since the syllabus of each paper is different, the candidates will have to check according to the discipline that they select.
