DSSSB Exam Pattern

DSSSB Tier-I Exam Pattern

Tier-I of DSSSB exam is conducted online. The test has multiple choice questions. There are 2 sections in the exam. Total marks allocated are 200. Section-I will have questions from topics General Awareness, English and Hindi Language Test, Reasoning and General Intelligence and Numerical Ability. 100 marks are allocated to section-I. Exam pattern for section-I is as follows:

DSSSB Tier-II Exam

The Teir-II exam has MCQs and total marks allocated is 200. Apart from that, a descriptive test is also there worth 75 marks. In the descriptive test, there will be one essay for 50 marks and a descriptive letter worth 25 marks. Exam Pattern for Teir-II exam is as follows:

Other Details: 
  • There is negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.
  • The minimum cut-off for each post is decided by the board depending upon no. of candidates appeared for the exam.
  • The skill-based test will be conducted as per requirement of the post.
  • Only candidates who clear Tier-I exam will be eligible to appear for Tier-II exam.

DSSSB Exam Eligibility Criteria For Different Post

Eligibility criteria are different for different posts. We have shared eligibility criteria for different positions that are filled through DSSSB exam 2018 in the table below:

PGT Post
  • Candidate must have graduation degree in relevant stream or Masters degree in any stream.
  • Bachelor/ Masters degree must be from a recognized university.
Max up to 36 years
TGT Post
  • Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.
Max up to 32 years
Lower Division Clerk
  • Candidate must be XIIth pass or equivalent from government recognized university or board.
  • Computer typing speed of 35 w.p.m. for English language or 30 w.p.m. for the Hindi language.  (5 key depressions for each word).
From 18 years to 27 years
Grade-IV DASS
  • Candidate must be XIIth pass or equivalent from government recognized university or board.
  • Computer typing speed of 35 w.p.m. for English language or 30 w.p.m. for the Hindi language.  (5 key depressions for each word).
From 18 years to 27 years
Grade-II DASS
  • Arts/Commerce/Science or Agriculture Degree from government recognized university.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of Hindi language.
From 20 years to 27 years
Statistical Assistant
  • Candidate must have Post Graduate Degree in Statistics / Operational research / Mathematical Statistics / Applies statistics Or Post Graduate Degree in Economics / Mathematics / Commerce (with Statistics as one of the subject/papers in Post-Graduation/Graduation level)
  • Have knowledge of working on the computer.
From 18 years to 30 years
Junior Engineer (Civil)
  • Civil Engineering Diploma from a government recognized university/Institution or equivalent
  • Two years experience of building Constructions/Civil Development works
18-27 years
Draughtsman Grade-III
  • Matriculation or equivalent from a Board or institution recognized by state/central Govt.
  • 2 years Diploma in Draftsmanship from a recognized institution.
18-27 years
Field Assistant
  • Candidate must be enrolled in a college in a recognized university/ institute or must have cleared 12th standard from a government recognized board.
18-27 years
Food Safety Officer
  • A graduation degree in food technology/  biotechnology/ oil technology/ dairy technology/ agriculture science/veterinary sciences/biochemistry.
  • OR a candidate must have a Medicine Degree/ Master degree in Chemistry from a recognized university or institute. Or candidate can have any other equivalent qualification announced by the Central government.
  • Successful completion of training from a recognized institute as specified by Food Authority.
Not more than 30 years
Librarian
  • Candidate must have graduation degree from a government recognized university/ Institue along with a diploma in Library Science.
  • Professional experience of 1 year.
  • Computer typing speed of 30 w.p.m. tomorrow
Not more than 37 years
Librarian (Dte. Of Training)
  • Graduation in Library science/ library and Information Science from a recognized university/ institute.
  • Candidate must have a diploma from a recognized university/ institution in computer application.
  • Professional experience of 2 years at least in any library under State/ Central government, Autonomous or Statutory organization, recognized research or educational institution or PSU.
