1. Ratan Tata to join Jungle Ventures as Special Advisor
Founded by Anurag Srivastava and Amit Anand, Jungle Ventures is an early stage venture capital fund focussed on helping build innovative technology-led companies in Asia-Pacific.

2. Govt to spend Rs 50,000 cr under new irrigation scheme
With an eye on improving farm productivity, the government will spend Rs 50,000 crore over the next five years under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY).

3. Airtel to roll out full mobile number portability on July 3
Bharti Airtel is set to launch national mobile number portability (MNP) from July 3. Mobile customers from the operator across India can now retain their mobile number while moving between states.

4. Bangladesh arrests 12 suspected al-Qaeda militants
Bangladesh security forces have arrested 12 suspected militants, including the chief of the al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), which claimed responsibility for two killings this year of bloggers critical of religious extremism.

5. At least 36 dead as ferry capsizes off central Philippine
A ferry carrying 189 passengers and crew capsized off the central Philippines in heavy waves, killing at least 36 persons but the majority of those on board were rescued.
