- With 181 wickets, Goswami became the highest wicket-taker in Women’s ODIs
- With 271 International wickets (Tests, ODIs and T20I), Goswami is the all-time leading wicket-taker for India women.
- She is the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2007, Arjuna Awardee and Padma Shri winner.

CRPF Command Shifted from Kolkata to Chhattisgarh
- The strategic anti-Naxal operations command headquarters of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been shifted back from Kolkata to Raipur.
- The recent decision comes at the backdrop of ambush in Sukma district that killed 37 jawans of the paramilitary force.
- In 2010, the central zone command headquarters was shifted from Raipur to Kolkata owing to logistics and connectivity issues

India, Japan to strengthen defence cooperation for ‘regional stability’
- India and Japan agree to boost military ties at a time of rising tensions in the region, including the South China Sea row and nuclear threats from North Korea
- Defence minister Arun Jaitley told his Japanese counterpart, Tomomi Inada in Tokyo that India hopes to pursue a strategic partnership with Japan for regional peace and stability.

Indian American Nominated for Key Post in FERC
- US President Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American Neil Chatterjee as a Member of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
- FERC is an agency responsible for overseeing America’s power grid and deciding on multibillion-dollar energy projects.
