CTET Notification 2020 – Apply Online for Central Teacher Eligibility Test

CTET Notification 2020: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET- July 2020) to select Primary and Elementary Stage Teachers for CBSE schools. Large number of vacancies is allotted for this CTET July 2020 recruitment. CTET Exam will be held on 05th July 2020. Wiling and eligible candidate may apply for CTET 2020 Exam through online mode on or before the last date of 24th February 2020 Extended 2nd March 2020. Eligibility Criteria for CTET Notification July 2020:

In order to apply for the Teacher Eligibility Test, the aspirants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

Paper 1 – Who can appear in CTET 2020 Paper 1?

If you have any one of the following educational qualifications, you can appear in paper 1 of CTET exam 2020.

  1. Passed class 12th with at least 50% and passed or appearing in final year of any one of the following
    • 2-yr D.El.Ed (by whatever name known). OR
    • 4-yr B.El.Ed. OR
    • 2-yr D.Ed (Special Education). OR
  2. Passed class 12th with at least 45% and passed or appearing in final year of 2-yr D.El.Ed (by whatever name known) as per NCTE regulations. OR
  3. Completed graduation with at least 50% and B.Ed.

Paper 2 – Who can appear in CTET 2020 Paper 2?

Likewise, if you have any one of the following educational qualifications, then you can appear in paper 2 of CTET exam 2020.

  1. Completed graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-yr D.El.Ed (by whatever name known). OR
  2. Completed graduation with at least 50% and passed or appearing in any one of the following
    • 1-yr B.Ed. OR
    • 1-yr B.Ed (Special Education) OR
  3. Completed graduation with at least 45% and passed or appearing in 1-yr B.Ed as per NCTE norms. OR
  4. Passed class 12th with at least 50% and passed or appearing in final year of any one of the following
    • 4-yr B.El.Ed. OR
    • 4-yr BA/B.Sc Ed or BA Ed / B.Sc Ed.

Relaxations in eligibility criteria

SC, ST, OBC, Differently abled get 5% relaxation in minimum percentage requirements.

Selection will be based on Written Examination. Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET-2020)

CTET 2020 Exam Pattern

Questions asked in the CTET are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), in which the candidates are given four (04) alternatives out of which one (01) answer will be correct. The test is conducted in offline mode, which means it is a pen-paper based test. The CTET exam pattern is separate for the two papers – Paper 1 for Primary Stage (Classes I to V) and Paper 2 for Elementary Stage (Classes VI to VIII). The exam will be of a duration of 2½ hours. Candidates can check the distribution of questions in each of these papers from the table below.

Languages in which CTET 2020 will be held: The main question papers will be bilingual – Hindi, English.

Language options for language I, II: A total of 20 languages are being offered for language I and II. They are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Garo, Gujarati, Kannada, Khasi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan, Urdu.

Mode of fee payment are: You get two options to pay fee at end of the registration process – Either through e-challan (offline) or online payment. If you opt for e-challan, then you can either use Syndicate Bank e-challan in which case you have to go to Syndicate Bank branch to pay the fee, or Canara Bank e-challan then you have to go to Canara Bank to pay the fee. However if you opt for online payment, then you can pay using either credit card, or debit card, or net banking.

CTET 2020 Application Form Correction

Editing details while filling the form: When you are filling the online application form of CTET July 2020 exam, you can make as many changes as you want, before submitting the form.

Changing details in form after paying fee and submitting it: Once your CTET 2020 confirmation page is generated, you cannot edit the form, until form correction window opens.

Correction window: CBSE will let you make changes in the application form during the correction window, dates for which are given in the table above. In this duration, you will have to visit ctet.nic.in and click on the relevant correction login link. Then you will have to login and edit details in the CTET 2020 form. Note that other than this, the online application form correction window, any other mode of form correction will not be available. You cannot email or call CBSE or CTET Unit to request them to change anything in the form on your behalf.

Qualifying Marks in CTET

In order to qualify CTET, the candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks as set by the CBSE. To be declared as qualified, the candidates need to obtain at least 60% that is 90 out of 150 in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

Relaxation for reserved category candidates: As per the information provided on the official website, the School managements (Government, local bodies, government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions in the minimum qualifying marks to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc. category candidates.

Validity of CTET

The CTET 2020 eligibility certificate will be valid for 7 years from the date of declaration of result.

CTET Exam Center List 2020

CBSE has published names of all the cities where it will set up exam centers. No. of options: You can choose 4 cities, in order of preference while filling the CTET 2020 application form.

Center Allotted: CBSE will try its best to allot you center in your first city of preference. However, if that is not feasible, then it will give you a center in the second choice. And so on till the fourth choice. The allotted center will be conveyed through the CTET 2020 admit card.

CTET Exam 2020

Scope or applicability of the exam –

  • Central government schools like KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools.
  • Schools that are under administrative control of UTs of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
  • Can also apply to unaided private schools who can opt to accept CTET.
  • State government or local bodies owned and managed schools, aided schools can accept state govt conducted TET. However if state govt does not conduct TET then CTET score can be accepted.

Role of CTET in CBSE Schools: CBSE says, “According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6 March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

CTET Admit Card 2020

CTET Admit Card 2020: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued CTET Admit Card 2020 on2nd week of June 2020. The Central Board has issued the admit card online, on ctet.nic.in. To download its application number and password or registration number and date of birth is required. Central Teacher Eligibility Test will be held on 5th July 2020. The candidates need to carry CTET 2020 admit card on the exam day.
