STATUS: RESULT OUT

CLAT Result 2017: Chanakya National Law University, Patna conducted CLAT Exam 2017 on 14th May 2017 as applications for CLAT 2017 were available from 1st January 2017. The CLAT Exam was held online in 63 exam centers across India.

CLAT Exam scores will be accepted by as many as 18 National Law Universities and other law colleges after CLAT Result 2017 will be announced on 29th May 2017.

CLAT is one of the most popular law entrance examinations for seeking admissions to five-year integrated law programs (BA LLB, B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB and BBA LLB) into National Law Universities (NLUs) recognized as participating institutes of Common Law Admission Test. In addition to the undergraduate law programs, CLAT was also conducted for admission into postgraduate law programs including LLM.

About CLAT-2017

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a non-statutory body created under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the convenience of the students seeking admission to various National Law Universities in the country.

An entrance test is conducted to provide a list of candidates on the basis of ‘merit-cum-preference’ to each University for admission to their Under-Graduate (UG)/ Post-Graduate (PG) programs, as per the eligibility, reservation and other criteria laid down under the respective statutes of the participating Universities.

CLAT Result 2017

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), is an all India common entrance examination, conducted on rotational basis by 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their UG and PG degree programmes.

The 18 participating NLUs in the order of their year of establishment are:

  2. National Academy of Legal Study and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad.
  3. National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal.
  4. West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata.

  6. Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur.

The first CLAT Core Committee consisting of Vice-Chancellors of seven participating NLUs decided that a Common Entrance Test shall be conducted by all the participating Universities on rotational basis in the order of their year of establishment.

Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008. Presently there are 18 NLUs participating in CLAT and following the policy of rotation, the Tenth Common Law Admission Test (CLAT – 2017) shall be conducted by Chanakya National Law University, Patna.

Important Notice for MoU: CLAT Result

Chanakya National Law University will be conducting the Common Law Admission Test-2017 on Sunday, the 14th May 2017. Institutions willing to utilize the score/rank of CLAT either for the purposes of recruitment or admissions to their institutions are requested to contact Convenor, CLAT-2017.

  • Institutions willing to utilize the score/rank for recruitment purposes are required to pay Rs. 7,10,000/- through Demand Draft drawn in favour of Convenor, Implementation Committee, CLAT-2017, Patna and enter into MoU with the Convenor, CLAT-2017.
  • Institutions willing to utilize the score/rank for admission purposes are required to pay Rs. 1,60,000/- through Demand Draft drawn in favour of Convenor, Implementation Committee, CLAT-2017, Patna and enter into MoU with the Convenor, CLAT-2017.
  • Draft MoU can be obtained on request from the office of the Convenor, CLAT-2017 on email ID aialakshminath@gml.com.
  • This may please be done at the earliest preferably on or before 1st March 2017 so as to enable the Convenor, CLAT-2017 to take necessary steps for including those institutions and display their institutions in the CLAT-2017 Website.
