Reasoning Quiz: Assertion and Reason Questions
Basic Concepts of Assertion and Reason Questions:
‘Assertion’ refers to stating or claiming something forcefully and that of Reason is fact. This test is meant to judge the candidate’s knowledge and with it the aim is to determine his ability to reason out correctly.
There are two models of Assertion and Reason questions:
1.Given Assertion, and two Reasons, now justify the which Reasons are suitable for the given Assertion i.e.,
(A) Only I is the Reason for the Assertion.
(B) Only II is the Reason for the Assertion.
(C) Either I or II is the Reason for the Assertion.
(D) Neither I nor II is the Reason for the Assertion.
(E) Both I and II are the Reasons for the Assertion.
2.Given two statements which is a Assertion, and a Reason, these two statements are related to each other i.e., we need to justify whether
(a) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A.
(b) Both A and R are true and R is NOT the correct explanation of A.
(c) A is true but R is false.
(d) A is false but R is true.
(e) Both are false.
Here, we shall deal with the combination of Assertion and Reason model 2 and relate with each other in order to find their correct coordination. Here, five alternative comments on these are given and the correct one is to be chosen. This is again an important part of verbal logical reasoning for all bank exams such as SBI Clerck, SBI PO, IBPS Clerck, IBPS PO, SBI Specialist officers and IBPS Specialist officers and also IBPS RRB.
